Read the structure before changing the file

Declared dimensions and the viewBox describe different things: one sets a physical or screen viewport, while the other defines the internal coordinate space. Shape and group counts can help you understand a file, but cannot establish how it will import or cut. Complex bounds are left unmeasured when the checker cannot calculate them safely.
