From pieces to finished shape

Fold the straight place card. 100 × 90 mm file canvas; 100 × 45 mm modeled folded face. Standing depth depends on the opening angle and is not specified.

  1. Actual straight-card rectangle shown flat at 100 by 90 millimeters.

    Open the straight design at 100 × 90 mm. Keep the cut outline and fold guide at the same scale and in their original positions.

  2. Actual cut rectangle and original dashed guide at half height, with a directional fold cue.

    Assign the perimeter to cut. Assign the open guide at y=45 mm to your supported score/fold operation, or omit it from cutting and mark that position manually. Fold the two 45 mm halves together.

  3. One actual half of the source card, clipped at the original fold, shown as a 100 by 45 millimeter face.

    Bring the outside edges together and crease the fold. The visible face is 100 × 45 mm. Opening the card to stand changes its depth and viewing angle; this diagram only shows the flat face.

What to have ready for this project
Material or blank
Choose a foldable sheet material that can hold the intended crease; test a scrap before the full card.
File-import application
Use a vector-capable application that supports your chosen SVG import workflow. Confirm millimeter size and separate operations before output; a preview does not assign device operations.
Operations to prepare
Cut the perimeter. Assign the open fold guide to score/fold or omit it and mark manually; an accidental full cut separates the halves.
Assembly supplies
Provide a suitable marking/creasing method if your workflow does not score. A flat working surface helps align the two halves.

Use the pieces together

The full SVG is an arranged sheet. Individual files let you work on one design without importing the rest. Keep every piece of a layered design selected while changing its size, so borders, holes and inset details keep their proportions.

  2. Import one individual SVG or ungroup the full sheet. Preserve the aspect ratio and check a known dimension before cutting.
  3. Filled closed paths represent cut contours. Negative spaces use the even-odd fill rule. Fold guides are open dashed paths: assign score or remove them before cutting.

Before you start

  • Assign the separate fold guide to your supported scoring operation, or remove it before cutting. The SVG does not assign a machine operation.
