Convert SVG text to outlines without losing the master

Keep an editable copy first, then convert the delivery copy’s text to vector paths. The outlined copy no longer needs that font to draw its letters.

Make the delivery copy

  1. Save a copy that keeps the original editable text.
  2. In Inkscape, select the text and use Path → Object to Path. Use the equivalent outline conversion in your editor.
  3. Save a separate SVG and inspect its letters and enclosed counters.

Check what changed

The SVG checker reports live text elements. Zero text elements means the file has no live SVG text; it does not prove that all letters are correct or joined for a stencil.
