Cricut describes SVG and DXF as vector uploads. Layers in those files can remain separate after upload. Design Space accepts SVG on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, but Cricut says DXF upload is unavailable in the iOS and Android apps.
JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF, and HEIC are raster formats. They enter the basic-image flow, where you remove unwanted areas and choose a single layer, flat graphic, or an available conversion option. That process does not preserve original vector layers.
Upload and inspect the vector file
On desktop, choose Upload, then Upload Image, and select the SVG or DXF. On mobile, use SVG for a vector upload. Name the image, save it, and inspect the result on the Canvas before arranging the project.
Check overall width and height, expected layers, and missing pieces. Cricut currently limits SVG uploads to 5,000 paths, so a very detailed file can fail even when its extension is supported.

Separate format support from item support
Pattern fills, linked images, and embedded non-vector images can be rejected or omitted. Replace required content with ordinary vector paths and plain fills. A raster fallback may upload the appearance, but it gives up the original vector structure.
When only one part is missing, isolate that group in the source editor. Replace a linked vector with actual paths, turn a required pattern into ordinary repeated shapes, and remove hidden leftovers. Upload the small repair first; once it succeeds, restore it to the complete design. This identifies the failing structure without flattening useful layers.
Keep corrected exports under new names and compare each with the original Canvas result. On desktop, test SVG before falling back to DXF when layers and curves matter. On iOS or Android, remove DXF from the troubleshooting branch entirely. If a 76 mm by 42 mm label arrives at another size, select the complete group, lock proportions, enter 76 mm width, and confirm that the resulting height is 42 mm before continuing.
