SVG score lines vs cut lines: assign the operation

A score guide marks a fold. A cut outline separates a piece. Assign the intended operation after importing the SVG.

The EveryCutFile convention

New template-generator exports put green outlines in cut-outlines and terracotta guides in score-guides. Both are solid vector paths. The colour and group name do not automatically configure the machine.

Prepare a folded file

  1. Select the guide group separately from the outer outline.
  2. Assign Score if your software and tool support it, or remove the guide from the cutting job and mark the fold another way.
  3. For Design Space, attach the score line to the relevant cut shape so the position stays aligned.
