SVG for LightBurn: formats, fonts and size

LightBurn imports SVG, DXF, PDF and AI vector files. Check scale and assign laser operations after importing.

Import an SVG

  1. Choose File → Import, then select your local SVG.
  2. Compare the imported width and height with the design’s stated size.
  3. Inspect separate shapes and assign each intended operation before sending anything to a machine.

Text and file effects

LightBurn cannot import embedded fonts. Keep the font installed or convert text to paths in the source editor. Importing graphics does not transfer cut settings from another program.

DXF scale

Choose the DXF unit used by the exporter. A file with missing or misread units can be scaled incorrectly. The EveryCutFile converter exports millimetre coordinates.
